    Want to join us early for some photography fun in the gorgeous Sedona desert? We’ll be taking a bus from Phoenix to Sedona at 2pm. You will have 4 hours to eat, play and shoot in Sedona before the return trip back to our host hotel. This will be a fun field trip atmosphere, with unstructured time to create.

We will focus on using a long focal length and a low aperture. We will talk about how you can assert a piece of yourself into your sessions to feel more connected to your art.

      • Courtney Bowles | @courtneyathome | Outdoor, Single Child | Classic and Whimsical Childhood Images: Tag along while Courtney shows you how to maximize your shooting time by creating classic childhood portraits and shooting for whimsical images together.

      • Shelby Zavala | @in_thislight | Outdoor, Family | Capturing Light & Love: Follow along as Shelby uses the available light to capture images that make you FEEL.

      • Jyo Bhamidipati | @mbmphotography | Indoor, Mother & Child | Photographing Motherhood and Connection (Indoor Lifestyle fine Art Photography): This class will be all about photographing motherhood connections indoors in a home like setup. In this class; we will be photographing an expecting Mom and her daughter. This session mainly will be all about capturing genuine connections between the mother and her daughter and how to make the daily even more beautiful. We will discuss everything about photographing indoors using available natural light, while adding drama and depth in your work, talk all about composition and perspective while using a small space efficiently, documenting motherhood and emotions. We will also discuss tips and tricks on how everyday motherhood can be documented in the most simple ways for your clients as well as for yourself.

      • Sally Molhoek | @sallykatephotography | Outdoor, Couple | Whenever Wherever Whoever: When you have to work with what you've got, how to rock a session no matter how much is out of your control. Learn to make quick assessments, utilize everything you have available, and work your light and angles to create a dynamic gallery in any circumstances.

      • Vironica Golden | @vironica | Outdoor, Young Children | Bright Ideas - Creative Uses for Light in Your Composition: Join Vironica as she explores Granite Reef in this shoot along. Vironica will explain how she uses light as a compositional element. Learn all her shooting tips and tricks to capture flares, sunburst, rim light and silhouettes. She will also discuss subject placement and how she uses the environment as part of her composition. Learn how to create depth by incorporating elements such as lines, shape and framing.

      • Mickie DeVries | @mickiedev | Underwater, Children | Underwater Photography on a Budget: Come shoot with Mickie underwater or poolside as she explains camera/housing options that will help get you started with underwater photography without breaking the bank! Mickie will be mainly be shooting with her gopro, but will also bring her dicapac bag, and Sea Frog housing to show the disadvantage/advantages of each. Mickie will also talk about what makes a good photo underwater and what settings she uses.

      • D’Ann Boal | @smittenandswoon | Outdoor, Young Children | Wonder & Awe: Storytelling with Environmental Portraiture: Capture the wonder of childhood and the awe of nature in this shoot-along designed to inspire you. At this sunset session, attendees will have the opportunity to shoot alongside their fellow photographers and learn how to capture the story of childhood while drawing on the beauty of the environment.

    • Tara Herron | @taraherron_photography | Magical Editing: Tara will edit a photo from start to finish in photoshop so you can learn from Tara’s process. She will show you how to isolate your subject so it stands out, using different tools in Photoshop. Tara will also show you how to add magical elements to your images.

    • Jamie Eilts & Tracy Tabor | @jamieeilts & @tracy_ann_tabor | Introduction to Drones & Aerial Photography: Are you drone-curious? Join Jamie & Tracy to explore everything you need to know to get started in drone/aerial photography. This breakout course will compare/contrast different types of consumer drones including important factors to consider in making a drone purchase, discuss drone laws/rules, and explain the basic controls/settings of a typical drone to get you acquainted with what you need to know to “take off” on your drone journey. In addition, this course will delve into the importance of composition in drone photography (both in preparing for a shoot and in flight) and how editing drone images differs from a typical DSLR photo edit. If time permits, the instructors will edit a drone image for the participants OR demonstrate a brief drone takeoff/landing, flight, and controls.

    • Vironica Golden | @vironica | The Language of Color: In this breakout Vironica will talk in-depth about color theory and how it effects the mood of an image. She will discuss the importance of color choices to evoke emotions and create a stronger composition.

    • D’Ann Boal | @smittenandswoon | Profitability for the Artistic Soul: Learn why running a profitable 6-figure business is a win-win for both the photographer and her clients.

    • Jyo Bhamidipati | @mbmphotography | Embracing the Imperfection: In this class; we will learn how a few simple objects can add some zing and wow to your photography and take it beyond the ordinary. We will explore a few creative techniques such as freelensing, using prisms, bubble wraps, fractals etc and how these techniques can be in your back pocket for your use at any session or whatever genre you shoot!

    • Denise Laurinaitis | @denise.laurinaitis | Street Photography and the Art of Seeing: Street Photography is not planned, but with a little knowledge, we can take control and make our stories come to life. In this breakout Denise will lead you through all the technical information you need to shoot street photography and also give you ideas on how to get creative out there!

    • Courtney Larson | @inloveness |Stories That Matter: We spend years learning to master the technical aspects of photography and can still feel lost. Who am I? What makes my work unique? What is the story I'm sharing? In our quest to just be better, we neglect the most critical aspect of our work-- OUR WHY. In this interactive discussion, we are going to crack that wide open and frame out storytelling in a completely new way.

    • Tiffany Kelly | @tkelly912 | Outdoor, Macro | Found Beauty: A Macro Photo Walk: We will explore a gorgeous botanical garden and have the opportunity to capture amazing nature photographs in this exploratory photo walk. Tiffany will describe what she looks for in terms of selecting locations and subjects for macro photography. Along with learning new tips and tricks for creating gorgeous nature photographs, you will have the opportunity to capture some incredible images along the way!

    • Denise Laurinaitis | @denise.laurinaitis | Downtown, Street | Finding Beauty in the Urban: Join Denise out on the streets of downtown Phoenix where you will explore not only the area, but also your vision and how you choose to capture what your eye sees. We will discover how to use the environment, its people, and its bits and pieces (such as buildings, art, items, etc) to help drive your story.

    • Courtney Larson | @inloveness | Indoor, Couple | Honest Moments, Killer Portraits: In this hands-on shooting demo, Courtney is going to teach participants all her secrets to creating emotive and real portraits! Courtney's approach to wedding and couples portraits is a healthy blend of chaos and control that creates standout portraits! Together, she will guide you through shooting a bride and groom, giving you tools that you can take into any portrait scenario!

    • Kellie Bieser |@kelliebieser | Let There Be Light: How to Create Any Light, Anywhere, Anytime: Light is the foundation of photography. And yet we so often find ourselves dependent upon the sun to get the light we want. We allow ourselves to be limited by the time of day, the angle it hits a location, and the weather as we create our images. But when you create light, you take back the control of your artistic process. Let’s work together to overcome the perceived challenges of flash to create results that are better than natural light and make photos we love.

    • Jamie Eilts & Tracy Tabor | @jamieeilts & @tracy_ann_tabor | Outdoor, Aerial | Desert Drone School: If you’ve ever been curious what it’s like to fly a drone and create some aerial imagery, this is the shootalong for you. Join Jamie & Tracy as they provide a brief introduction to drones/drone laws before handing off their drone controllers to YOU to learn how to fly a drone and create some images of 1-2 young children playing as you shoot from the sky above them. Raw files will be provided to participants via email or Dropbox following the shootalong.

  • 9am: Q&A Panel with Instructor Photographers | If you still have those burning questions to ask your favorite photographers, now is the chance to get your answer! We will gather for a back-and-forth conversation all about all things photography, work-life balance and everything in between.

  • 10am & 11:15am: Breakout Sessions #3 and #4 (Registrants select one per time slot, for a total of two one hour Sunday breakouts. Available on first come, first served basis.)

    • Shelby Zavala | @in_thislight | Golden Light & Magic: Learn how Shelby transforms images utilizing light and color to create magic.

    • Courtney Bowles | @courtneyathome | Enhancing Images with Off Camera Flash: Off Camera Flash can be intimidating, let’s simplify it. Courtney will discuss when and why to use flash, how to balance flash with your available light, and how the two coexist to enhance your images.

    • Mickie DeVries | @mickiedev | Underwater Editing: Do you love to shoot underwater photos, but get stuck on how to edit them, or spend hours trying to perfect the edit? If so this class is for you! Mickie will show how she quickly and easily edits underwater images with both Lightroom and Photoshop.

    • Sally Molhoek | @sallykatephotography | Kickin' it Classical: This session will explore some of the great Art Masters and the universal elements and principles of design they helped establish, and how understanding these can broaden your understanding of light, composition and emotional impact in your imagery and create powerful and evocative images, all the time.

    • Kellie Bieser |@kelliebieser | How a Portrait Painter Uses Photoshop: Kellie Bieser is a portrait artist who traded oils and turpentine for Photoshop. Her approach to editing is unique in that she approaches each image like a canvas. The photograph is simply a rough sketch upon which she can create the masterpiece that fits her creative vision. Watch her as she hand edits portraits live using familiar tools in new ways to get custom edits for each and every photo.

    • Teresa Peterson | @evelynleigh_photo | Instagram: The Good, Bad and Sometimes Ugly: Open and "real" discussion about our love/hate relationship with this platform that has brought us all together. We will discuss how to manage time, emotions and find balance.

    • Tiffany Kelly | @tkelly912 | Outdoor, Macro | A Modern Approach to Macro Photography: This breakout will lay out the foundation for the study of macro photography, including gear options, settings, manual focus, and depth-of-field. We will then dive into the creative application of this genre and how color, composition, angle, lighting, and editing work together to create a particular mood. We will also discuss how Lensbaby lenses and freelensing can be used to create gorgeous macro photographs.

  • 12:30pm: Raffle Winner Announcements, Wrap Up & Goodbyes
